A driven point well, often referred to as a 'sand point,' is a small-diameter well meticulously created by seamlessly connecting lengths of 1-1/4" or 2" diameter steel pipes, using robust threaded couplings. A drive-point well screen is securely threaded to the bottom of this pipe assembly, typically ranging from 2 to 3 feet in length and capped with an expertly hardened steel tip or drive-point at its base.

The innovative design of the screen is crafted to permit an unimpeded flow of groundwater into the well, efficiently preventing the encroachment of surrounding sand. This allows water to be effortlessly pumped to the surface through the pipe. The hardened steel drive-point tip is a key feature that facilitates seamless penetration of the well into the ground, making it resemble a long, durable spear.
