These are ingeniously crafted, small diameter wells, constructed by seamlessly connecting lengths of durable 1-1/4" or 2" diameter steel pipes. Each segment is secured with threaded couplings, providing uncompromising sturdiness. At the heart of the system lies a drive-point well screen, strategically threaded to the bottommost pipe. Typically measuring 2 to 3 feet in length, this screen is equipped with a robust, hardened steel tip or drive-point, designed to penetrate the earth with ease.
The intelligent design of the drive-point well screen serves a dual purpose. It permits the unimpeded flow of groundwater into the well while effectively barring surrounding sand from intrusion. Once the water is collected, it is efficiently pumped up through the pipe to the surface, ready for use. The spear-like construction, culminating in a hardened steel drive-point tip, ensures that the well can be effortlessly driven into the ground, making installation as smooth as possible.
