Their primary function is to expertly capture and retain media and resins, safeguarding them from loss and ensuring they do not travel downstream. The resin trap screen is meticulously designed with one side closed, while a flange on the other side allows for effortless installation into the equipment. Featuring continuous slots and a smooth surface, these screens can be custom-tailored for flow-in-to-out (FITO) or flow-out-to-in (FOTI) filtration methods. The slot sizes are expertly engineered to be minute, ensuring even the tiniest particle resins are effectively captured.

Crafted predominantly from stainless steel, these resin traps are preferred over carbon steel to eliminate common issues like accelerated corrosion. This choice of material ensures durability and reliability, providing a robust solution for water softening applications.

Work Principle

The resin trap serves as an ingenious, protective sieving mechanism designed to ensure that ion exchange resin or other filtration media remain securely within the water treatment system, preventing any unintended escape into downstream areas where they do not belong. These high-precision wedge wire screens, also known as Vee wire screens, are strategically installed near the outlet of the water system line. They are housed chiefly in robust stainless steel or durable plastic casings, effectively safeguarding the integrity of the water system.

As the resin or media traverses the system, it is adeptly intercepted and captured by the advanced wedge wire filter screens. Simultaneously, any resin that has been captured is efficiently expelled from the system through an automatic flushing process, triggered by the differential pressure between the forward and rear sections, ensuring seamless operation and maintenance.
